Pre-Service Track
Undergraduates & career-changers entering music education
A multi-semester cohort blending pedagogy coursework, applied study, and classroom residencies.
A new alternative pathway
A new alternative pathway for the people who will shape the next generation of musicians. We are building it now — and we want you with us from the start.
Too many programs train teachers as generalists and hope the music follows. We are doing the opposite: building educators whose musicianship, pedagogy, and classroom practice are developed together, to a single conservatory standard.
The Canorous Music Educator Residency will open in cohorts, in partnership with schools and ensembles that share our commitment to depth over breadth.
Be the first to hear when applications open. Founding-cohort members receive priority review, scholarship consideration, and direct access to our planning team.
Grounded in research and apprenticed to master teachers — not a survey course, a craft formation.
Educators who continue to grow as artists. Repertoire study, ensemble, and applied work are non-negotiable.
Supervised teaching in real settings, with structured feedback from veteran music educators.
Placement support, portfolio development, and a network of working educators that extends past graduation.
Three entry points, one standard of excellence. Final curricula and timelines will be confirmed with founding-cohort participants.
